J&r And Bakery - Malden

I love this restaurant for its tasty and speedy lunches. Although these dishes were not part of my childhood, they have quickly become my go-to comfort food.

The staff at this restaurant is incredibly friendly and accommodating. I had to wait a few hours before I could check into my AirBnb, and they kindly let me stay inside to keep warm and comfortable. The only reason I am not giving it a 5-star rating is because the food was not to my liking (taste is subjective) and the door did not keep the heat in very well, letting it escape whenever someone entered or left. The restaurant seemed to be popular as it was always busy with people coming and going, so I assume that some people do enjoy the food.

The food at this restaurant is generally good, but their paté coté is terrible. It is not filling and tastes strongly of flour. I was disappointed that one of our famous street foods was made so poorly.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. The owner was lovely and welcoming. The food wasn't the best I've ever had, but the portions were always generous. However, recently the prices have gone up and the portion sizes have shrunk. I still like the restaurant, but I probably won't be returning anytime soon.

Best Haitian food around. Always fresh and reasonably priced.
