240 bucks for a tonkatsu set, bring it on. These guys have never failed me. One of the best tonkatsus I've had. Of course the price makes it even better. But I must say, I've always had it to go. Some officemates have eaten there and the smell of the oil stayed with them up to hours after leaving the place, even overpowering a dose of perfume to mask it. But the tonkatsu is the bomb. Chicken katsu was not as good.

Love this authentic japanese restaurant. Oroshi Hirekatsu Set is the bomb. How I wish they give out free unlimited sesame dressing for the cabbage

Tonkatsuya is a hidden place in the Creekside Hotel in Makati. If I say hidden, you won't be able to see this Japanese restaurant until you pass the hotel. I only learned about this restaurant through our lunchtime meetings at the office. Given the name, katsu is their specialty. My colleagues, who are responsible for the food, religiously order the Chicken Katsu Set for all of us. The set consists of chicken katsu, rice, vegetables and miso soup. The chicken was both crispy and tender, the miso soup is good, and the rice is a real Japanese rice that will leave you so full and satisfied. I have never been to Tonkatsuya as we always pick up our orders due to the proximity to our office so I cannot judge the ambience and service. However, the price is definitely the value as the set is enough to satisfy your hunger and quick katsu cravings.
