Restaurant Kupferberg - Mainz

We like to eat well and had a high expectations. the ambiente is appealing, the service was ok - but by no means comparable to other raised restaurats in and around mainz. the selection of the card was very clear: 3 appetizers, 4 appetizers around 1 dessert. the food was a flop. the scum soup was lukewarm and had a pronounced maggi taste and the adored chorizo foam was tasteless. very disappointing was the two of the fish with greypenrisotto: I doubt that the zander was fresh and the whole dish was tasteless.

We were at christmas in the local and it was initially noticed that the reception was not very professional. we were shown "from the far" where the table and the garderobe are located, but then the operation disappeared immediately. I found it very special. the ordering was then quickly and friendly, but the ordering was then too fast. the spears themselves were pervaded, the appetizer was hardly to overdo (ragout from wild boar on noodles; the only raffiness at this court was a top on draped kirschtomate). the main dish (ente mit klössen und rotkohl) was well prepared and the meat was also of good quality. that was dessert was a spicy cake with pumpkin seed ice cream and even and with taking off from the pumpkin seed ice cream likewise not so that you should order it again. also this combination has not really developed. everything in all it was satisfying, but not anymore. the prices that are called, I found basically, above all, for the offered (e.g. the appetizer cost 18 €) but then covered. the location itself is really beautiful.

The restaurant keeps what one expects from an upscale restaurant. perfect service, excellent kitchen and good selection of drinks and weeps.
