Old Apple Shed - Main Ridge

I learned from another local business that I’m not the only one who has faced this issue—they've had several people reach out for last-minute help since March. This suggests that the new owners were aware weeks ago that they wouldn't be able to fulfill my event, yet they waited until the very last minute to cancel, making it nearly impossible for me to find alternative arrangements. Now I'm dealing with a week filled with frustrating phone calls and emails just to get my deposit back, which should have been handled professionally and quickly, especially given how urgently I need to secure a new venue. If it weren’t for the kindness and generosity of other local businesses in our community, my 21st birthday would have been completely ruined by John and Carolyn.

Avoid this place!! Rude old people, toilets don’t work, unhappy staff .. told not to come back if not happy. Please don’t waste your money here … not worth it

After waiting half an hour for a drink, we still hadn’t received anything, not even water, which we had requested. I politely inquired about getting a glass of wine and was told that they don’t offer that today, even though the large groups sitting at the tables before and behind us were being served wine and apple wine because they claimed to know the owners. Instead of being served at our table, we had to essentially serve ourselves. At one point, the owner mistakenly told me that my order was for Moscato, only to backtrack and say I had ordered sparkling wine, which was confusing. By then, I was quite frustrated and declined to order a new wine since we still hadn’t received a menu (we actually left the restaurant without ever seeing one). The owners were quite rude and unhelpful, with not a single smile or ounce of friendliness. It was a stark contrast to our previous experiences under the old management. This place has always been a favorite for us, and it seems the new owners have a lot to learn. The vibe was just not right, and we hope they can improve things in the future.

Who would have thought that the best part of the wine tour was the apple wine. incredible drinks, every rehearsal has thrown us away! ends up with a plate of sorted drinks, because could not decide what was best. in any case would recommend everyone

If you read the recent reviews of The Old Appleshed they are horrific and in no way reflect the Old Apple Shed, the cause of the downturn in service is because the owner is having trouble with a disgruntled relative taking over the day to day running who clearly does not know how to run a business. Hopefully things will return to 'normal ' very soon and Kate will once again be in control and it will go back to the great customer service, food and most of all the fantastic music and atmosphere we have all come to love.If you 're in any doubt read the earlier reviews that really reflect the Appleshed as it was, and hopefully will be again once Kate is back at the helm.
