Morning Sun Vineyard - Main Ridge

This was the last spot on a day of wine tasting and we definitely saved the best until last. John sat us down for an entertaining tasting of their very (very) nice wines, accompanied by some very interesting stories and a fruit and cheese platter. Also, by far the most generous pours of any of the vineyards we visited. It's in a cute little spot and would definitely recommend stopping by if you are touring around the area.

We loved it here, sat out in the deckIn the sun and sampled a few foods off the menu and did the wine tasting. Pizza was the yummiest we'd eaten in a long time! Has a beautiful European, family feel to the place. We just felt comfortable, relaxed and in holiday mode as soon as we sat down. Took away a few bottles so as not to forget this place, staff all very friendly and welcoming.

We stayed one night at one of the two apartments on site. Our was on the lower floor with 3 bed rooms and two bathrooms. Very spacious and tidy. The bathrooms need upgrade urgently. Bath towels were thin and worn out. The kitchen was spacious and neat, but need to be better stocked. No wifi. Love to have stayed for lunch.

We have been regulars over many years and returned with a large group for lunch on Easter Monday 2017. We were met by a curt and unfriendly woman who turned out to be the "new" maitre'd/manageress.We were planning a decent lunch and asked if we could have a wine tasting, she replied yes for $5 per head despite us saying we were buying a number of bottles for lunch. i pointed out that that was unheard of in all our very many visits to wineries both here and overseas, e.g. if you buy a bottle to consume the $5 comes off or there is no tasting fee.She then treated us with distain and was quite unfriendly to us and a gorgeous 3 year old girl in our group.The normal staff were fantastic as usual and the food quite good ( but $45 per head for a share platter of antipasto/pizza and salad was expensive).We spent over $100 per head and was ignored by management, sadly the day was ruined by the rude and arrogant manageress and we are unlikely to return unless there are changes.

Visited Morning Sun as part of a small tour (with tasting, lunch and glass of wine included). We were ignored for 15 minutes at our tasting and staff tried to make us pay per person (it was already covered). The pizzas took over an hour and a half to come out. No apologies whatsoever. Staff tried to make us pay for our drinks when they were already covered by our pre-paid package. We didn't receive one of the courses we had paid for. Staff were rude and incredibly unprofessional, providing no information about the wine and even making a nasty comment about my appearance. Seriously don't bother with this one - if it's part of a tour, ask them to change the lunch reservation. Will NEVER go back.
