Tanner's Inn & Dining - Magnetawan

The food is consistently delicious every time we visit. Be sure to make a reservation. The Fish and Chips are amazing. The soups and salads are exceptionally fresh. The atmosphere has a very Muskoka feel. Enjoy!

The cozy and intriguing little pub offers a clean environment and excellent service. The large windows provide a view of a beautiful pollinator garden filled with hummingbird feeders, making it enjoyable to watch while waiting for your food. The service here is great, as they prioritized our order when a large party arrived. The red seal chef is knowledgeable and the food was delicious. As a vegan, I appreciated the variety of interesting options available on the menu. The owners, who are also the chef and his partner, are friendly and plan to retire down south next year, so be sure to visit soon. I will definitely be returning in September for our girls' weekend dinner out!

We are currently seated in the restaurant and wanted to share our thoughts on our dining experience. There were four of us and we tried the steak and kidney pie, which my 88-year-old mother found to be delicious. In addition, we also sampled the steak and a chicken dish. The food was exceptional, and we were impressed with the service and overall ambiance of the restaurant.

I was so looking forward to trying Tanners. I had read wonderful reviews on trip advisor and so asked 3 other couples to join us. I chose Sunday evening for their roast beef special. When we inquired about it we were told it was cooked to well, but was extremely tender so we decided to try it. The beef unfortunately was as tough as shoe leather. The potatoes were scooped on the plate unappealingly with an ice cream scoop and were stone cold. Brussels sprouts were cold and cooked to mush. The Yorkshire pudding was delicious and the gravy also flavourful. 5 others at the table ordered the beef as well. The same thing. The server did bring warmed up potato’s when we told him they were cold. Others at the table who ordered steak said it was good and their potatoes were also cold. I had such high hopes for this restaurant but I will not go back. Give this a hard pass.

What a gem. Friendly staff. The food was amazing. A great menu, lots of variety. Some great British classics. The fish and chips were fantastic followed by traditional bread pudding. Transported us back to Blighty for an evening. Also a great selection of beers and proper beers at that! Can’t wait for our return visits next summer !
