Matilda - Madrid

Lovely little cafe for breakfast. We had to wait to get a table but it was worth it. Highly recommended. Opens at 8 so get there on time or you will have to queue.

Sweetie and I enjoyed several wonderful meals at Matilda which was a highlight of our trip to Madrid. Fernando and Alex create a warm friendly atmosphere that is popular for locals and tourists alike. The cafe is tiny and the decor combines with a vintage collection with items for sale. The two main menu choices are Breakfast and Menu del Dia. (closed for dinner) For EUR16 we received a choice of starter, main, desert and wine or coffee. We found this to be a good value compared to other locations we tried. If you are looking for a great place to try Menu del Dia in Madrid, this is your place to receive authentic Spanish food with friendly service, good wine and coffee. Child friendly. We hope to be back soon.

Great place, wonderful lunch menu! I had a really home-made lentils, beef stew, and an awesome twist of tiramisu with Forrest berries. Will repeat for sure. Great service and wonderfully composed menu with a wonderful glass of wine or beer included in the menu. The coffee is a must have! Capucino is close to no other in Madrid.

La comida muy rica, hecha con afecto, como en casa. los precios son más que razonables. cantidades perfectas. muy buena atención. uno de los mejores lugares de la zona. súper recomendado. También hay un montón de platos en el menú para elegir.

Excelente todo. Pedimos el menú que vale 14 euros que nos pareció un buen precio. ¡Son 3 pasos muy abundantes! también era muy rico todo. La atención de Carlos era excepcional. ¡Definitivamente volveremos!
