La Fortune Cuisine - Madisonville

The family who runs the restaurant—the wife and their two sons—were incredibly friendly and eager to chat with me while I waited for my order. Their eldest son, Gordon, shared some fascinating stories about their family’s history in the area. He is a really interesting young man. Before I knew it, my food was ready to take home. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of my steak and noodle dish. It was definitely more than enough for one person, with plenty left over for later. I thought the prices were a bit on the higher side, but they mentioned that their portions are large, which certainly turned out to be true. I ordered two spring rolls and a beef and noodle dish with vegetables, and my total was around $20. I’ll definitely be back to try more items from the menu. Give this place a chance—you might be pleasantly surprised too!

The service here is consistently slow. This time, my wife received her hibachi beef first, which she had ordered medium rare. Unfortunately, the meat was tough and overcooked. When we mentioned this to the waitress, the female cook came out to insist that the beef was indeed medium rare. We explained that it was tougher than shoe leather and overcooked, but the cook wanted to argue, so we decided to drop the issue. My order arrived about eight minutes after my wife's, and while it was good, the overall wait was excessive. We won’t be returning.

I visited this restaurant for the first time since they updated their menu to include hibachi. I tried the steak and was pleasantly surprised by how tender it was. It came with vegetables and fried rice. The portion size was generous, making it easy to share or take leftovers home.

They have a very limited menu now due to covid and it is take out only. The food was ok, their yum yum sauce is more of a watery sauce and almost no flavor. The steak was very bland and well no flavor at all really. Really everything was not very flavorful. After the reviews we thought we would give it a try and well we don 't think we will be back.

Best Chinese around! Moved into town last year and this is our go to! Love the servers and the food is always amazing and fresh! We were very surprised to find this little gem in Madisonville but oh so glad we did. Will keep coming back for more!
