Capital Tap Haus - Madison

Just reason why I write this is when they take a reservation on open table, then they should be open. would have managed the system better. answer from a worker was that he was unclear. the manager finally came by, apologised and offered us a drink. we'll be back in the way we live in the city and enjoy eating.

We decided to go visit this dumpster fire on a Friday night and made reservations at 7:30. Walked in and went up to front desk where we waited for 6 minutes or so until the host came up to us and told us that the cook wasn't there today so they won't have food. Ok? Try to follow me here- It's a restaurant listed on a restaurant app that wasn't serving food. The host said the cook was out and that we were welcome to get drinks, but you don't reserve a spot on Opentable to get a Bud Light. Weird, but whatever. My biggest problem with this place was that the host made it seem like we were at fault for honoring our reservation to eat. He presented the situation as if it was normal for a cook to just not be there and for the establishment to not inform any of the people who had reservations for the evening. If Freiburg had given us a call we wouldn't have drove 30 minutes into the city only to find out that Freiburg couldn't serve us. My main point is this, Freiburg Tap Haus succcckkksssss. They were rude to us, didn't offer any apology and certainly didn't try to make right by us. 0/10 not a good time.

The food wasn't nearly as good as it was at the first location. Just mediocre.

We had the fish fry with potato pancakes (really were hashbrowns). The 3 of us enjoyed our food, service was good, and our table was clean. And a tasty pretzel appetizer. Good variety of beer

Quite different atmosphere, ambiance, menu, and everything else from the previous location on Monroe St.. This was our first visit to Freiburg since their move, and it was a disappointment. The menu is quite limited. The food was OK, but we won’t return as it wasn’t anything to rave about. And, getting passed all of the beggars, homeless, and trash is a challenge.
