Quality of the ingredients was above average (super fresh) and prepared with some love. Just the right combo of mainstay items and some things off the beaten path. We gravitated to the sweeter and hotter items. Atmosphere was better than expected, we have been back a few times and prefer sitting in the bag to watch the kitchen. The real home run is the staff, just really nice people you can tell care about this place.
After renovation ambiance has become pleasant and soothing. We had Cashew Chicken and KRA PROW MOO KROB (Spicy Pork).. chicken was just boiled so was not tasty (3/5), though the gravy was good. Pork was well fried and crispy (5/5). Quantity was good and remember they serve rice along with every gravy item. Host lady was super helpful.Food: 4/5
Dropped by for some dinner with a few friends. It was our first time, and looks like they had just relocated to University Ave.The atmosphere was nice, very clean and spacious. The waitress was attentive and friendly. However the food was very bland unfortunately. I got the Spicy Basil which comes with a side of rice. It was just like your typical stir fry at a fast food Chinese restaurant but very mild salt. It tasted okay but nothing special.. and for a whopping $18 depending on what meat you selected. I expected slightly larger portions. My friend got the Jungle Curry and it was very very plain.. not much curry flavor to it. I wonder if they used more coconut milk or water than curry flavor. Also a whopping $18 as well. Other friends got the pad kra pao and steamed chicken which they enjoyed though. So it sounds like their dishes are a hit or a miss. The menu is quite large! Everything sounded good on it .. wish there were more photos though to show how the dishes look like. Overall the place is just so-so.
Gorgeous place. Great food. Great prices. Great staff. Ive never dined here or eaten the food. I'm a delivery driver and pick up from this location a lot. I am excited to one day be able to take time to dine in and taste the food for my Self. I've heard great things. Plus the smells from the food I deliver are tantalizing, y'all. LolFood: 5/5
Thai Basil in Madison has become my ultimate go-to place for exceptional Thai cuisine. I've been there five times in just a month, and every visit has been consistently amazing! The Thai Street food offerings are absolutely outstanding. The food is truly unbelievable, no exaggeration. The atmosphere is beautiful, clean, and warmly inviting. Thai Basil is now one of my top choices, like Cyndi Lauper’s song ? “Time After Time” I’ll be there ??
