Honey Jug - Madison

Eating was great, servings are big. Hands down the best sweet tea. Very clean place and very friendly people!

Great place. Take advantage of the ride outside Madison or Versailles. Had the Cowboy 1/2 Burger special with BBQ / Onion Straw/Bacon. With potato wedges. Big BBQ sauce. Everything was delicious! Friendly service, relaxed environment. No crowds for a late lunch/early dinner. It has interior/outside seats. Recommended by the DNR boys on the campsite.

I love hole-in-the-wall restaurants so try Honey Jug was on my list since the move to Madison. I'm glad I did. Everything is fresh, which is a slower service experience, but it is worth it. The fried mushrooms are excellent. The fish, the chicken sandwich and the zartoin were good — not fantastic but very firm. Crinkle cut hairs are my favorite. Sweet tea is not syrup sweet. Prices are better than expected. A very good first experience and I will be back.

I absolutely LOVE this place! Went there for the first time today, and the food was just amazing. Incomparable to any other Mom and Pop shop, and 95% of any other restaurant. And the staff? They were more respectful than any restaurant I've been to yet, and treated my husband and I, with the utmost respect.
