The prices were a bit high, but when we got our food, the portions were well worth the price they feed us for two meals.
Fat Jack's is great, it is a mother and pop shop and the food is very indigenous for this area it is a grill, but it has excellent cheese curds and other appetizers. This is one of our favorite hangouts every time we come to Wisconsin!
I haven't been to Fat Jack for years. But I had to go back in August and it was just as great as ever. We went on Friday, so my mother and I have the Friday night fishing. The fish was delicious and the bread on the fish was not too heavy. The Koleslaw is an Apple-Zieder-based Schwieger (not Mayo) that was unexpected, but it tasted great. My wife got the BBQ Cajun Shrimp with red beans and rice. I had crossed my fingers because my wife is from Louisiana, but luckily she found a delicious slice at Fat Jack's house. Must come back sometime to try the BBQ elements.
The food was great. Curb page recording. When the bag was in my car, the wake-up of the smokehouse aroma filled the area. I closed my windows to keep it inside!. Huge rack of ribs and 1/2 chicken, beans, Mac and cheese, rice and beans. We had three meals.
The first impression is the great smoky smells as you enter. You order at the counter (or to go) and the staff is friendly and helpful! Has an old school northwoods Wisconsin supper club ambiance. Typical offerings for BBQ, plus a kids menu, specials, soups, and wings. Full bar and bottle beers. Buffalo wings were good! Had the combo platter. Recommend the dry rub ribs and the pork!
