When you charge New York City prices, you need to provide New York City quality. The Maitake Tempura is clearly inspired by Japanese cuisine, featuring a light coating that's crispy without feeling overly greasy. Unfortunately, this dish falls short. It reminds me more of chicken nuggets than authentic Japanese fare. It mars what would otherwise have been an acceptable meal.

I was truly impressed by the food and drinks. The server was very knowledgeable and provided a detailed explanation of each dish. Overall, it was an outstanding experience. I highly recommend this place!

I absolutely adore this restaurant! It’s a charming fine dining spot in a lovely neighborhood. Being James Beard award winners, the food truly lived up to the hype! We enjoyed a bottle of the Côtes du Rhône blend, which was wonderful. Our meal included the incredible green barn panna cotta, deviled eggs, shishito peppers, rigatoni Bolognese, pork loin, and the Door County cherry cobbler. Everything was fantastic! The dishes were exceptionally delicious, making this one of the best restaurants in Madison without a doubt. The service was outstanding, and we felt warmly welcomed. I can’t wait to return!

The food was tasty. Unfortunately there was only one server for the entire restaurant. Portion sizes were questionable, depends what you ordered. The NY Strip, was just the tips, literally missing 90% of the NY Strip. If you're only offering NY Strip Tips, then they should change the menu to state this, along with the price. Other than this, we had fun and an enjoyable dinner.

Delicious Food!! Great service!!! Acoustics are not good, my husband and I find it difficult to hear each other.
