The atmosphere was delightful, featuring cozy plants and local artwork adorning the walls. There was even a small stage for local musicians, which I’m excited to experience on my next visit. The lattes were delicious, exactly what you’d expect from a good café. We ordered both a matcha latte and a classic latte, along with the crescendo and black bean burrito. However, the burritos were quite small—about the size of my palm, and I have small hands! They were tasty, but not the best value for the price. In short: stop by for a latte and a nice place to study, but skip the burrito.
I've visited this place a few times while some friends were performing music, and I really appreciate how supportive they are of the local community and artists. I'm also a huge fan of the concept of a coffee shop that serves alcohol—it's truly a wonderful combination, and Crescendo does it perfectly! I love that I can enjoy beer, wine, coffee, snacks, or a full meal; they really offer something for every occasion. Since I work night shifts, the early morning is often the best time for me to meet up with my friends who have 9-to-5 jobs, right after my workday and before theirs begins. They can grab a morning latte while I enjoy an after-work beer—it's truly ideal for everyone involved. The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful, especially when I take my time deciding what to order. If you’re looking for a great local spot without all the fuss, this is definitely the place to be!
I'm very unimpressed! With this location being on Monroe Street a prime location I hoped for more! The coffee tasted like spoiled milk, the food was mediocre (the eggs looked like the ones from McDonald's), and the service was awful (seemed rushed and overwhelmed)!
Great place to grab a simple breakfast, read the paper and hang out. Kid friendly. Small menu but includes the usual cafe options like muffins, bagels, granola, avocado toast, breakfast sandwiches plus a few burritos and full espresso menu. Mostly 2-seater tables but a few 4-seaters. Cozy fireplace. Staff are always kind. Also a performance spot at night for local musicians and poets and writers.
Madison has numerous great coffee shops in town and this is one of the best! They roast their own coffee and put out a high quality product. The nitro cold brew is like a great stout but instead of getting sleepy, you get a jolt of energy.
