The first time I decided to stop was a word of mouth review by a customer who visited my place of employment and always praised how great the food and service are and how I should definitely give it an attempt for me. I can honestly say that it was one if not the best soul food spots I've ever eaten. I have traveled to several states and always prefer the family over chains. I've tried almost her entire menu and every time the food is hot and fresh and the amount of food is worth the price that is not even high for a small business. With that being said, they can sometimes be very busy, but this is personally one of my favorite things about stopping in at least once a week for the great food. They always have great smiles on their faces, no matter how busy or hectic their day goes, and they always try to make sure everyone enjoy their waiting. Many of the articles seem to cook to order so that is one of the main reasons why if you are in a hurry, you could order a head or come if you have more time. I will continue to support this fantastic business as long as their doors are open and anyone who is even curious about it should also! Continue doing what you do because it is definitely something special! All love and positive moods!
My brother brought me and my sister some ribs from this place, so we wanted to find some on our own lonely Saturday and that it in a very convenient location in shurlington plaza not far from home, easy to notice from the road and you can smell the grill meat from a mile away. I love Barbecue so this place can keep my alley. It's not an expensive place and people are very nice.
Best meats and sides around! Well worth the price. Home cooked soul food at its finest. If there was a 6* rating Fall Off The Bone would get it!!!
The food was very good. The homemade sides are amazing! The meal is $12 for a meat and 2 sides, but the portion size makes it more than worth it. I had the ribs, and just as the name suggests, they fall off the bone! The service was great. My only regret is not coming here sooner!
I thought it was an actual restaurant, but it looks more like a former bar that died a horrible death with maybe a kitchen hidden off to the back. Very nondescript decor. I couldn't see a kitchen. Honestly I don't know where the food comes from when they retrieve it. The guy just went through a back/side door and 10-15 minutes later came back with food. For a $10 lunch time plate, one expects more generous portions than those given. However, I could live with the portion size if whoever hadn't given me a whole side of country cured meat, instead of collard greens. I like the meat for seasoning, BUT NOT for eating in the place of my greens. My pork chops could have been a lot more tender, but hey..... I'll give it another try one day.
