Red Cedar Dining Room - Macksville

During my travels in Australia, I've had lunches at numerous pubs, and this one stands out as the best. For just $10, you get a generously sized steak, along with chips and salad (though a drink is required, which costs extra). The steak is consistently the tastiest I've ever had and is always cooked exactly to my liking. My friend had the chicken carving and couldn't stop raving about it. The portion sizes are fantastic for the price, and I've never had to wait long, regardless of how crowded it gets. Honestly, you won't find a better deal anywhere!

1. We had to clean our own table. 2. We waited over 50 minutes for our food, and it would have been nice to receive a heads-up about the delay. 3. The steak was tough and tasteless, resembling leather. 4. There was no steak knife provided with my meal, so I had to get one myself. 5. One of the meals was missing vegetables, and I had to go back to the kitchen to request them. 6. The salad came without dressing, and I faced attitude when I asked for some. Overall, nothing went right during our visit. Service rating: 1 out of 5.

Friendly, clean nicely fitted out local pub. Good classic well priced meal choices. $21 rump steak was a highlight. Good selection of cocktails and local craft beer on offer. Dog friendly and there is a welcoming bowl of water for them in undercover outdoor area.
