My friend and I were craving for some hot tasty Korean stew, when this uniquely named restaurant caught our attention. Is Phill Bean the owner? Is the speciality dish beans? Or maybe the owner just felt like Phill Bean was the correct name for a restaurant. We questioned our GPS as it lead us through the neighbourhood and much to our delight, we pulled right up a small row of shops. The interior felt very relaxed and homey, and the waitresses were kind and prompt with our orders. <br/ <br/ I ordered the galbi stew, which came out piping hot and with a fresh bowl of rice. The meal tasted like a home cooked meal, the flavours aren't striking or sharp which is a testament to the lack of artificial flavourings. The meat was tender and fell off the bone. I was pleased not only by the meal, but by the pricing as well, a place which would make keep many restaurants honest. <br/ <br/ Definitely will return again. And we did find the answer to the name of the restaurant, but you'll have to find that out when you read the first page of the menu!
Wow what a neighbourhood gem. We travelled 25min to get to try this place based on the high reviews. It lived up to expectations and was worth the drive. We tried the rice cakes, seafood pancake and spicy pork bulgogi. Every dish was flavoursome and delicious. Food came out and service was efficient. It worked out to be $20pp and we were stuffed. Already planning our next visit!
Casual place in the Shelley suburb for some authentic korean food. The food is relatively cheap with a decent serving size. Friendly and fast service.
Food is good. Staff is very friendly. It is authentic Korean restaurant. It is doing local business. Recommended to try out. Price is reasonable. Will go there again.
