The best Vietnamese pho in the Willetton area! And the beef bun was super tasty with its lemongrass sweet and sour flavour. Everything was fresh and the staff were friendly. They have revamped the shop and the interior looks much newer and presentable.
A few weeks ago I had dinner with my partner and his family. We ended up going to Joy’s Garden in Willetton which is located in the same hub as restaurants such as Bamboo, Taurus, Yum Cha House and Yuki. Now I think it quite a well-known thing in Perth that Vietnamese restaurants are mainly located north of the river in Suburbs such as Marangaroo, New park and Girrawheen whereas south of the river is known more for Chinese Malaysian cuisine. So I was a little bit sceptical when I was told that we would be going to a Vietnamese restaurant. My partner loves Pho so he of course opted for Pho. I on the other hand wasn’t in the mood for Vietnamese so I opted for their seafood kway teo. I tasted some of my partner’s pho and the soup actually had a really nice flavour to it. My dish was a winner – the kway teo had a lovely wok flavour to it and was quite tasty. For the price, it is probably slightly more expensive than other places in the area. Overall I had a nice meal with the family and wouldn’t rule it out as one of the options when going to Colins Street.
This restaurant just reopened after closing for about a month for renovations. The menu is new (more Chinese food) and (I think about) 10 Vietnamese dishes. The decor has been updated with a red feature wall and new tables and chairs. It's a small place and if you need high chair, you'll have to ask the staff as its kept somewhere at the back. We got our usual pork with broken rice and raw beef noodle soup. Still tasted as good as I remembered. Glad the chef did not change a thing.
Their cakes is what they're known for and they are delicious especially their durian roll cake. May try ordering a whole cake for the next birthday in my family. Also their vietnamese food is tasty. I have tried ordering their char kuey teow but unfortuntely the portion was small and it wasn't to my liking. But it will not stop me from coming back and ordering from their vietnamese menu.
