Happy Friend Fish - Luton

This restaurant in Luton serves the best fish and chips. The portions are generous and always freshly cooked and delicious, whether you opt for chicken, fish, or anything else. The Chinese food is also delicious. It is a family-run establishment with very friendly staff. My family has been frequenting this restaurant for over a decade, as nowhere else compares. Although they can get busy on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, the food is well worth the wait.

It's not even close. Wonderful fish and chicken and the curry sauce makes it super special. They also do top rate chinese food

Just spent £2.30 on large chips to take away. Got home, they were horrible greasy and soggy never go there again.

Wanted a treat leading up to xmas (23 Dec) and was advised against going to Tangs (which is closest to my home) so I remembered driving past here. IT IS EXCELLENT! The fish is delicious (batter is heavenly) and it coats the chips in a delicious fish like aroma (best when its lightly salted). Someone also mentioned the portion size in another review and I have to agree it was huge (chips were heaped generously and fish was around 30cm) had to finish it in 2 sittings at home as it was so filling (and I 'm not exactly a skinny person). Mine cost £5.90 (large) which I found worth it after seeing the size and how long it took to finish. The staff were very kind and informative on how long I would have to wait (6 mins to fry each fish), and speedy while packing it up to take away. I think you have to buy dips like tartar sauce and ketchup pouches (25p each) which isn 't too bad. There are seats for waiting, otherwise it is purely take away to eat at home. I think a small portion costs just over £5, medium is near £5.50 and large is £5.90. My brother brought home some 'high end ' fish&chips a fews days after xmas but it was no where near as good as Happy Friend! Thank you again, my family were happy and stuffed!
