Back Burner Tavern In Hockess - Lufkin

My first time here and everything was excellent. The food was delicious and artfully served. My mom said it was the best creme brûlée she ever had in her life. I loved the decor and high ceilings, it definitely added to the wonderful experience. Our server, Randall, was a delight.

My wife and I attended a luncheon recently. We had not eaten at The Back Burner in many years. The food was very good. We will need to put this restaurant back on the rotation.

I used to frequent Back Burner often, but after today I will not be returning. I placed a to-go order and also made a in-store purchase, but there was an issue with part of my order not being placed in the bag and I had to go back. By the time I got back to work, my sandwich was very soggy. The to-go mgr is apparently on vacation and the customer service of those who were there as well as the manager of the restaurant was extremely poor. I didn’t appreciate having my concerns dismissed, nor did I appreciate being talked over. I will take my business and my money elsewhere.

Great local restaurant with excellent food and atmosphere with outstanding service.

Donna is a fabulous general manager! She made us feel welcome and took such good care of us.
