Le Colonne - LUCCA

I thought the food in Firenze was amazing... WOW! even though this place is tacked in Tuscany country side it was one of the best restaurants EVER! You got to try their Pizza perfect crust with fresh toppings. Their beef tartar with mushroom was huge and fresh I'd guess at least 250g of meat. The Truffle pasta was cooked to perfection and giving just a small hint of the flavor.

Had a really lovely evening here. Interesting specils of the day, we were offered tortelli al tartufo which were gorgeous. Very attentive service, large terrace with really beautiful views over the plain of Lucca and surrounding hills. Not expensive, highly recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed this family-run restaurant. The food was exceptional and the prices were very fair. The view is spectacular and the owners even more so. For a nice casual dinner in the hills above Lucca, this place can't be beaten. I will return on my next trip to Lucca.

This restaurant is a must stop every time we visit Lucca. The drive up the Lucca hillside to the restaurant is postcard perfect. The staff is always friendly and hard working, the food is always delicious.

Service is their biggest issue here. Staff didn’t care enough to talk to us for half an hour after seating us and then only to ask if we had a reservation. Tables arriving after us had drinks and dinner before we were even asked for drinks but there didn’t seem to be any reason why. The food was just ok and the prices were great. But we would gladly have paid more for a little attention. Felt like a place that locals love and tourists play second string. Too bad too because the view is great. We only paid 20E for wine, a pasta and a pizza, but the experience we hoped for in the Tuscan hills wasn’t there. I’d go elsewhere.
