Morano's Authentic Pizza - Lubec

This pizza keeps bringing us back to Lubec! We plan each trip around one to two pizza and calzone nights. Easily our favorite pizza!

We tried Morano's for the first time and were blown away by the amazing New York-style pizza. As Italians who originally hail from the Philly/South Jersey area and now live in Maine, we've come across only three authentic New York-style pizzerias in the state over the past 11 years that we love. Now, with Morano's added to that list, we have a fantastic fourth option. The cheese pizza was outstanding, with a delicious sauce, and the garlic knots were also fantastic. We're definitely planning to return before we leave Lubec, and we'll likely have to make a pizza pilgrimage to this area more often!

My boyfriend and I dined here on two of the four nights during our trip, and we really enjoyed the fantastic pizza made with fresh ingredients! There's outdoor seating available, and while you wait (if you don't order ahead), you can play cornhole and other yard games. We decided to take our pizza to go, and there are numerous picnic tables scattered throughout Lubec that offer beautiful ocean views. I highly recommend savoring a Morano's pizza while enjoying the scenery!

My husband and I have been vacationing in Maine off season for years and just last year added the Bold Coast to our vacation. Such beautiful scenery and easy access to Campobello Island. We saw Morano's but unfortunately it wasn't open. We noted the days and hours for our vacation this year. I love seafood and feast on it while here but sometimes you need a change so we made a real effort to get to the restaurant. Coming off the FDR bridge we saw that the open sign was lit and headed right for the restaurant. We ordered a small pizza to share and chatted with the two women who own the business. We learned that one woman was from New Jersey and as we are from Pennsylvania, we had a lot to talk about. The pizza was ready in no time at all and we were happily sharing it in our room at Inn on the Wharf. We will stop in again to take a break from seafood and for a good chat.
