Athenian Corner - Lowell

The food is absolutely delicious, and the portions are quite generous. The staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is really cool. You definitely have to try this restaurant if you're in the city of Lowell.

I really enjoy dining at the Athenic Corner. It has never let us down in the 30 years we've been going there. We miss their Sunday dinners since they’re closed on Sundays. Will they be reopening on Sundays? We'll have to stop by on Saturday or maybe during the week instead.

We visited the restaurant as a party of four, and each of us ordered something different: lamb, squid, and a sampler platter. All our plates were left clean! Our server was polite, attentive, and accommodating to our individual requests. The prices were reasonable; our dinner for two came to just over $50, including gratuity. Plus, there are plenty of parking spaces nearby, making this a place we would be happy to return to multiple times.

Came from out of town and being Greek wanted to eat in a Greek restaurant. I was a little disappointed with the food. The half chicken was so dry I could not hardly eat it. Husband had a gyro, which was okay but not the best. The waitress was fine but did not even know how to pronounce gyro. Best part was the retsina. I have to assume that it is more americanized than Greek. Sad.

Lunch for two plus tip came to $37. Did not like the red sauce on my rice pilaf, and the portion of overcooked lamb and sauce in the gyro was less than generous. The lemon soup was rather bland. Also, the ladies room was not all that clean. The atmosphere was tired and lackluster
