I had not been to Enoteca Emilia since it moved/reopened in Loveland, so was very excited to try again. The space is very lovely, nice and open. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable. Due to a staff shortage there was a limited menu, but I was very grateful that we were called and told ahead of time and we still found some delicious items. I highly recommend the deviled eggs, octopus and the Cacio e Pepe.
Despite having reservations, and even having our reservations confirmed, when we arrived at the restaurant it was closed for the week. Absolutely terrible experience.
I understand that there is a shortage of workers, especially in this industry right now. However, this was not an issue of staffing. Our waitress seemed very frazzled the entire evening. We arrive to dinner and we were greeted in an appropriate time after being sat. I only wish the rest of the evening went this well. We each ordered a specialty cocktail from their menu, and they were severely underwhelming, to say the least. When she came back to check on us, we ordered (2) items as an appetizer: bread and brussel sprouts. A salad and (2) entrees, one being the most expensive one on the menu at $30. The brussels came out before the bread somehow, and we didn’t receive the bread for another 15 minutes. After someone else bringing yet another round of the exact same appetizer to our table after we had finished, we were confused and concerned about the organization of the staff and kitchen. She quickly realized that they weren’t meant for our table and proceeded to take them back to the kitchen. The appetizers weren’t bad and we were pleased with them. Our waitress comes back over and assured us that the food would be our shortly and proceeded to ask if I needed another cocktail. I said, “No, I’m alright for now. Thank you.” My girlfriend hadn’t even take more than 2 sips of hers, as she didn’t like it at all. This wasn’t even noticed the entire meal. At a rest of “this scale”, most servers would chime in with something like, “I see you haven’t finished much of your beverage. Do you like it? Is there something else I can get for you?”. Not the case here. She brings me another drink, after stating I didn’t want one, and assures us that our food would be out soon, again. This was after 75 minutes of us having been there in total. We’re noticing that multiple tables around us, some who had gotten there after us, were receiving their entrees, appetizers, better service, etc… Almost 2 hours, we finally have dinner. Cold food, $131 later, leaving highly upset.
The food and service was outstanding. I would very much go back again.
