Emerson's Cafe Restaurant - LOVEDALE

Today we decided to celebrate our Daughter and Son in-laws birthday. On arrival we were greeted with a smile and seated at our table. It was so cold in this place jackets were not taken off. I ordered a glass of wine for my partner and a beer for me, I was told we don't have that wine our menu is in the stages of changing so i ordered another glass to which he said "yes we have that one". Our drinks came no glass for me and he popped the cork and poured a glass. He left the bottle so i questioned him stating I only ordered a glass. He was no help basically ignored my questioning.Too top it off the bottle of wine was $69 so I was not too happy but they showed no interest in working it out and at this stage there were too many people around to make a scene.But food for thought the bottle to buy yourself is $45 so the mark up is ridiculous. Our daughter and family arrived, service was alittle slow for drinks for them. Food wise was ok. I will not return there nor will I recommend this place to any of my work colleges, friends or family . So sad to have such a negative experience.

I had eaten at Emerson's on a previous visit to the region and thoroughly enjoyed it, but this time, it missed the mark in a couple of ways: firstly, the bottle of white wine we ordered was served at room temperature - a pity because it was a nice wine; and secondly, the food would have been delicious, but for a heavy hand with the salt in the kitchen. Oh, and the coffee grinder, tucked in a corner of the restaurant area, was deafeningly loud and annoying.

My partner and I went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning of the long weekend. He had Banana Pancakes with Chantilly Cream and oodles of maple of syrup. I went for the savory option of bacon, eggs and mushrooms with a potato rosti, because I love them. Now I'm fussy with my breakfasts (because it's my favorite meal of the day) and I can tell you that this was DELICIOUS! Wayne also said that his sweet breakfast was the best he'd had in a long time. So if you're in the Hunter and want a lovely breakfast with good service then put Emersons' on your list. Bon appétit'

We had a very tasty lunch on a Sunday. It was quiet but we were well looked after.The food came promptly and the bread and olive oil was superb, with their balsamic oil.Three of us shared two main dishes and a peach salad. We hand the lamb in spaghetti and the Pork.Both were ample and very tasty.We finished up in the Winery and purchased olive oil, Balsamic and wine.This restaurant also seemed popular with locals – also a good sign!

We booked out Emersons for 40 people for my husband's birthday. We had organised the shared 6 course banquet lunch menu. The food was just fantastic - plentiful, flavourful & well presented. Staff were professional, efficient & helpful with any requests. All of our guests raved about the food & the whole day. We were very happy & I can't recommend Emersons enough.
