Although there is no vegan cooked breakfast on the menu the vegetarian cooked breakfast can be made vegan by simply removing the egg. The staff member on hand was very helpful and very kindly checked with the chef to ensure everything was vegan. They also have a selection of cereals and fruit. Soya milk is available. They also have a reasonable vegan section on the pub's food menu which I did not try from. If you're after a pub in Louth to have a meal from then The King's Head has you covered for a fair amount of options.
I met up with some carnivorous friends for an early dinner at this restaurant, based on a previous review. Unfortunately, we discovered that the menu featured in the photos on Bilzy's rating was only for lunch, and the only vegan options available after lunch were the Sharing Plate or the Jackfruit curry. Since my wife wasn't a fan of curry, we opted for the Sharing Plate. However, we found it to be underwhelming. It seemed like a selection of frozen snacks that weren't very appetizing. I can't say I would recommend it based on our experience. I'll give it three stars for the limited options in the city and the larger selection available on the lunch menu. But I won't be returning. I visited the hotel connected to The King's Head with my family. Although there was no vegan cooked breakfast on the menu, the vegetarian option could easily be made vegan by omitting the eggs. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the cook ensured that our meal was vegan. The restaurant also offers a selection of cereals and soy milk. Additionally, there is a decent vegan section on the pub's menu. Overall, if you're looking for a pub in Louth with a good variety of options, The King's Head has you covered.
I have experienced gluten cross-contamination at this restaurant before, and was told that my reaction was not severe.
I went to this restaurant with some friends who eat meat for an early dinner, based on a previous review. Unfortunately, we were informed that the menu displayed in the photo on Bilzy's review was only available for lunch, and the vegan options after lunch were limited to a sharing platter or jackfruit curry. My wife wasn't interested in the curry, so we opted for the sharing platter. However, we were disappointed with what we received. The food was edible, but it seemed like a collection of reheated frozen snacks and wasn't very appetizing. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend it. I have given it three stars due to the limited options in town and more variety on the lunch menu, but I won't be returning. (Updated from a previous review dated 2021-07-01)
