Among a lot of tourist traps we found this little gem on a small street, and it was exactly what we had hoped for. Great wine and beers and very nice tapas. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and welcoming and we came back multiple times during our stay. Definitely worth a visit.
Stopped off for a drink and tapas. Quite reasonable prices and friendly staff. Good quality food. Would recommend
Could be hard to find, just back off the promenade near to the fire station a lovely typical Algarvian bar serving wonderful tapas, good inexpensive wine...their Vinho Verde was the best and cheapest all holiday. The husband and wife owners were so friendly and kept coming out to check all was ok, and to chat and share a joke, we had a fantastic evening...but get in early as it fills up with local families who visit in large parties, which says it all. This bar needs the reviews to spread the word, so please give it a try..at the moment they open at 17.00pm.
Found this tapas bar on our first night and returned to it on our last night. Not only is it great value for money for example sangria 13 euros for a 2 litre jug cheapest in quarteira but the food is very traditional Portuguese tapas. We had a mix of tapas through out the evening with a full list of options which should give enough choice for all tastes. Tucked away from the main promenade the bar has a great local feel. They only have a few reviews on tripadviser which is why they are not rated higher on the places to eat but they do have a Facebook page with some excellent reviews. Overall a great place to spend the evening chatting away whilst enjoying local food and drink!
