Jasmine Asian Bistro - Louisville

Best boiled fish in Louisville. Also excellent spicy pan fried pork. Friendly service. Excellent food. A fun place.

I placed a takeout order, and they kept saying it would be ready in just one more minute, even though it was supposed to be ready ten minutes earlier. Eventually, they informed me it would take another ten minutes, so I had to cancel my order.

The food was quite bland. I ordered the General Tso's chicken lunch combo, which came with fried rice, wonton soup, and I added an egg roll. The egg roll, rice, and soup were decent but lacked flavor. The soup had some toppings of bean sprouts and julienned vegetables. I was expecting the General Tso's chicken to be spicy, but on a scale of 1 to 5, it was a solid 0 in terms of heat. To make matters worse, they used sweet and sour chicken instead of the traditional General Tso's chicken. The sauce was so watery that the breading fell off the chicken pieces when I picked them up, and it had no flavor to speak of. On the plus side, the chicken was tender. I may give them another try at some point, as I had high hopes for this visit.

I arrived to pick up my carry-out order only to find that it hadn't even been started yet. After the designated pick-up time, I waited an additional 15 minutes, only to be told it would take another 10 minutes. This was the worst service I've experienced in Louisville.

Really good take out. Prices have jumped considerably. but then again they have increased significantly everywhere else as well.
