We arrived promptly at 4:00pm. We were both able to find street parking close to the restaurant. (Which was a win in our books since it was 19°f outside). Our table was ready for us when we walked in we were escorted to our table upstairs. This was my first time sitting upstairs super cute vibrant vibe with lots of vibrant wall art. We decided to split a pitcher of the swirl margaritas (our favorite) an order of the traditional guacamole (also our favorite). For my entree I ordered the Al Pastor (my favorite thing on the menu). Everything came out to perfection! The pork was perfectly tender, juicy, flavorful. I can never finish it so I asked for a to go back with an extra side of the smokey pineapple sauce (out of this world good). Before we left I stopped in the bathroom upstairs. To my surprise it was one stall extremely spacious. There were coat hooks on the back of the door so I could hang my winter coat my purse. There were a couple of neon lights if you love a good selfie moment. And a full length mirror. Gotta love a full length mirror.
Whitaker: They seated us near the kitchen, which we liked. Got corn- delicious! Got ice cream and it was also delicious! Great place to go. Malissia: We celebrated my mom 's birthday here with our family, a group of 12. We had a lovely time! Everything we tasted was delicious and it is an amazing atmosphere to celebrate an occasion. Some comments from the rest of our party: The staff was friendly, patient, and very attentive. The food is incredible and it is a very festive atmosphere. Loved the environment! Service was exceptional with our large group. The food was as excellent, if not even better, than the previous location! Great! Large portions, good service. The grownup service was not rushed, and the kids meals came out first. This is normally appreciated by kids but Whitaker would like it known by Yelp!
Great food. Great service. Great decorations. Only thing is it is a little expensive for what you get. But they try to make up for it in presentation which I appreciate. We got the queso with chorizo, the trio of salsas and the traditional guacamole as appetizers. All of them were fantastic. I would recommend getting any of them. They came with blue corn tortillas and plantain chips which was a good switch up. I got the Birria Tacos and they were great. They were much thicker than the typical Birria tacos I have had in the past so they were very filling. Flavor was great and I would recommend them. My boyfriend got the Pozole with chicken tinga and it was really good. Great presentation. You get all the toppings on the side and add as you like. The soup is also gigantic. For drinks I had the frozen mango margarita. It was good. Gave me a little acid reflux later though. My boyfriend had the smoky Pablo and he really enjoyed that. Very unique. Overall, great experience.
Traveling on a girls trip , first night out here looked all over online for places to eat and this one caught our eyes . It looks exactly how people view it and the food is wonderful!! Staff is welcoming and sweet and the owner is wonderful and generous
This place is truly a hidden gem in a city full of incredible restaurants. I took my parents here and we had several notable dishes and drinks. The Llorona Margarita came out bubbling like a cauldron of dry ice. It was really fun to watch and the Hibiscus flavor was unique spin on a traditional margarita. Every food dish I've ever gotten here is fantastic so you can't go wrong. Ambiance- 5 Date night- 5 Plating- 5 Flavor- 5 Price- 4 Unique offerings- 5 Friendliness of staff- 5
