Coals Artisan - Louisville

I had heard great things about the pizza at Coals, so we decided to order some to take home. While we waited, we enjoyed drinks at the bar. Our bartender, Zoey, was delightful and friendly, crafting the most flavorful drinks for us. She had a wonderful personality and was very attentive to our needs. Our waiter, Xavier, was also polite and kind, ensuring that everything was taken care of with a friendly smile. Both Zoey and Xavier made our visit so enjoyable that we returned a few days later, and once again had a fantastic experience, thanks to our waitress Caroline. She was incredibly friendly, and our food arrived promptly, still hot and delicious. Everything we ordered on our two visits was tasty, and I'm really glad we decided to try it out. Coals is definitely going to be one of our go-to places because of the great food, drinks, efficient bartending, attentive waitstaff, and pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend it, and if you happen to meet Xavier, Caroline, or Zoey, be sure to tell them Momma T sent you!

I previously gave Coals a lower rating because they discarded our leftover pizza. However, Scott really went above and beyond to make things right. We received a complimentary pizza, and when our niece's order arrived with the wrong toppings, they quickly prepared a new one and offered her the incorrect pizza so it wouldn't go to waste. This experience has definitely earned them a five-star rating. We also tried the mushrooms as an appetizer, and they were delicious! Next on our list to try are the wings.

We started with a salad to share, which was fresh and perfectly portioned for two, not to mention delicious! After that, we ordered the Middletown pizza, and it was absolutely delicious! I had never experienced pizza cooked in this type of oven before, and the crust was superb. Unlike many pizza places where the crust dominates, this pizza was light, with a crispiness in all the right spots and wonderful flavor. Plus, it was very affordable. We'll definitely be returning for another visit soon!

Normally sit at the bar. The pizza and service have always been good there. They have good cocktails and a wide selection of draught and bottled beer. They do close a bit early for my taste, but it's worth it to get there early.

Great artisan pizza, loved the bread sticks. Great service. Definitely my new favorite pizza place!
