It was a simple, splendid meal (for 15 francs each), so memorable that when touring in 2016, we hoped to re-visit it. Much to our surprise, it still existed. Better yet, when we arrived, we found the same husband tending bar, the same cook/waitress preparing and serving our meal, and exactly the same decor. We could re-live the past! The charcuterie plate was just as lavish as before; the omlette aux fine herbes was still the best ever, the cheese plate was just as delicious, etc Alas, the price had climbed all the way to 15€. It was culinary and cultural time travel and the high-light of our nostalgic journey.
Incredible meal, for a very reasonable price, this is an authentic auvergne meal with jambon and saucisson , omellette...and lots of auvergne cheese...whoa!
This rural place is worth a detour; located in the countryside, you can enjoy a homemade cooked meal while relaxing in front of a fire in winter times or outside on their terrace on sunny days. The auvergnat dishes are simple; they serve huge salads,...omelettes with herbs, charcuterie auvergnate and of course local delicious cheeses.. After your meal, you have the option to take a walk and discover an imposing castle: Chazeron..
