Teofilos - Los Lunas

This is one of my favorite New Mexican restaurants in Los Lunas. The food is tasty and the customer service is great. I also love the art and vibe the environment gives.

Through the pictures, you can see what we ordered. To start, this place offers New Mexico-style American Mexican food. I have to mention that the staff here is fantastic, and the restaurant is exceptionally clean, including the restrooms, which left me very impressed. Now, onto the food. I had the steak fajitas, while my partner opted for the chicken fajitas. As I mentioned earlier, the fajitas here are quite different from what I'm accustomed to. I wish I had been informed about this beforehand. For instance, the beans are not cooked in clay pots; instead, they use stainless steel pots, which gives the beans a unique flavor. It's not what I’m used to, but it was still decent. Again, the staff was outstanding. They took the time to explain everything to us and did their best to address our concerns. Given what I know now, I'm open to trying this place again with different expectations.

This is my go-to spot every time I visit New Mexico. The chili rellenos here are the absolute best I've ever had. They're unlike any others I've tried; instead of being greasy and spongy, they have a perfectly crispy coating and a creamy cheese filling. I live in San Antonio, Texas, and I would gladly drive all the way to New Mexico just to eat at Trefoil's. The best way I can describe them is similar to jalapeño poppers, but so much better! Everything on their menu is fantastic. Their sopapillas are light and fluffy as well. This is clearly my favorite restaurant. Apologies for any misspellings!

The staff is always incredibly polite when you visit. The salsa is flavorful and hot, just as you like it. I absolutely love the chili! Whether red or green, it's always packed with taste, and I appreciate consistency in flavor when dining out. I would have given it five stars, but the chips were a bit stale, and the seating is a little cramped. Nonetheless, we will definitely return and recommend this restaurant to others. It's delicious!
