There were no other customers present in the store until after we were served our food (this matters). Nobody greeted us at any point and they refused to even make eye contact. Very very very awkward and uncomfortable interactions for all of us with everyone that was behind the counters. After 12 minutes they took our order despite nobody else being in the store. Paid $55 for three sandwiches and 3 cans of soda. We asked them to cut our sandwiches into thirds and they refused--arguing that its not possible. Finally, when we asked to use their knife to cut our sandwiches, they said this one time they'll cut them into thirds but never again. Without any exaggeration, it took 40 minutes from when we walked in until we were served three cold sandwiches, in an empty store while the crew was roaring and horsing around in the back. There is nothing in the store that isn't cheaper in other markets and from other delis. We paid $55 for three sandwiches because we expect service that is consistent with that kind of charge, not just bread and meat with nasty attitude. Sandwiches were ok, but absolutely not worth a 40 minute wait in a place where you're skin is crawling and the employees don't know how to greet you much less give you a decent experience. Wouldn't go back.
Great spot to grab takeout lunch, purchase ingredients for an Italian dinner at home; the Catering Menu is very impressive and flexible. Got the popular sandwich on fresh baked in house ciabatta bread: Spicy Dom (spicy Italian): Spicy salami, spicy ham, mortadella, spicy soppressata, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pepperoncini, pickles, olives, spicy giardiniera spread Italian dressing. Great sandwich;however, it gets SOGGY quick. In the future if I order the SPICY DOM again, I would ask them to construct the sandwich in the opposite order of how the deli arranges it; meaning dry ingredients (meat, cheese) on the BOTTOM and wet ingredients (ex., pickles, tomatoes, dressing) on top. Perhaps the sandwich won't become as soggy quickly with wet ingredients on top of a meat and cheese barrier. I could be wrong. They use very good ingredients at Domingo's and the staff are welcoming, I will return again when am in the area.
I crave Domingo's subs! Specifically the Dom. It totally hits the spot when I am hankering for an Italian sandwich. I love all the toppings and the meat and cheese ratio is perfect. The bread is delicious, however this last time I had it, it got a little soggy on the drive home. I still devoured it happily of course. I don't recall much of a difference in taste between the Spicy Dom and the Dom, but both are good. I love the market at Domingos too! Great selection of pastas, Italian imported snacks, deli salads, sodas, chips and more. I also ordered the pesto pasta salad and a biscotti to go. Both were delicious! Biscotti wasn't too hard nor too sweet, it hit the spot. I also got an italian sparkling soda that I had never seen before! Lots of cool items to explore there.Service was awesome, very friendly people there working really hard to get through the line of hungry customers. Definitely recommend checking Domingo's out!
Fire subs!!!!! Service with a smile, we shared a few laughs. I'd be coming back but definitely sticking to the ciabatta bread. The regular loaf gets a little soggy too quick if you don't eat it fast enough... but then again make sure to chew your food people! Take care! Try the subs The Gouda and Turkey was
Domingo's is my go to Deli in the valley. I grew up in the westside and bay cities was always my Deli of choice. I was lost when I moved to the valley. But Domingo's has the meat and the bread that screams authentic Italian Deli. There menu is vast. I've tried the turkey, pastrami, chicken parm, breosola, and I've loved them all and have so many more sandwiches I can't wait to try. You have a choice between an Italian roll or ciabatta. Generally I don't like ciabatta because of its thickness but at domingo's I prefer it. Even there pizza and chicken picatta hits the mark. I really can't get how anyone could give this place lower that a 4 star review. One of the great authentic delis in Los Angeles.
