Smith's Marketplace - Los Alamos

Large grocery/department store. Huge wine/liquor/beer selection. Even has a small bar inside!

This would be a much better store if there was any competition to keep them on their toes.

Many times 3-5 cashiers standing around talking, ignoring customers. Only self checkout was available, yet clearly enough workers to open one regular lane. Self checkout is difficult with a large basket of groceries and no place to put them. Several staff were ignoring customers that needed help with checking items. To make it worse, they have horrible attitudes and unexpected rudeness.

Too few staff. When it's busy it can take 40 minutes to check out.

Getting worse with time. Very few cashiers available. The lines are a little bit better.
