This is a great quiet get-a-way on the edge of the Northumberland Strait.
Rob is the chef and Mary is the baker and together they make wonderful food to tantalize your senses. Sight - food was artistically displayed with delicate garnishes on beautiful dishes. The view of the ocean from the dining room was incredible. Smell - a wonderful blend of aromas. Sound - quiet with soft music playing in the background. Touch - veggies cooked though still firm, fish flaked easily, bread and breakfast scones were light and fluffy. Taste - amazing flavours that woke up my taste buds. We booked dinner for the second night of our stay and while we spent more than we have before the 4 course dinner was worth every cent/scent!
Freshly baked bread. Delicious mushroom soup, salad with local fresh beets and greens, salmon, chicken cordon bleu and blueberry flan. Breakfast started with apple cinnamon scones (best scones we've ever had.) Blueberry pancakes with fruits and bacon
We went to Nova Scotia to celebrate our parents 60th Wedding Anniversary and they had booked dinner reservations at this Inn. Wow! We were amazingly surprised by the quality of the food. My husband and I had just returned from France for our 10th Wedding Anniversary the week before and of course we were amazed by all the food we ate there, especially in Paris. However, I must admit that the food at the Amherst Shore Country Inn was just as amazing as in Paris. Prepared with all fresh ingredients and full of flavour. If you are in the area, this truly is a place that must be experienced at least once. If I lived in the area, I think I would be there weekly.
