The only reason for the 4 not 5 stars is they do not post this is a cash only restaurant!!! We had the pleasure of finding out AFTER our meal on ... yes... New Years Eve! Thanks for that brief interruption of a great night. We did get over it and did recommend to the owner that she post this, so people like us can come prepared. It's not that we don't have the money, it's that we didn't have enough cash and had to go across the street to the ATM. This is embarrassing as a patron and can be avoided. Otherwise, the food was great. However, here is a few recommendations. The attentiveness could be better. We were there 2 1/2 hours and not once did someone check on us. We were delivered our drinks and appetizer, then our meals, ordered a second drink (which we had to remind them about after close to 30 minutes), and then when it came to our check we had the CASH issue. I actually wanted dessert, but we weren't offered any and I had forgotten after all this. Disappointing! My husband and I are both very understanding especially since we both have worked in the restaurant industry. For a dinner such as this, I expect a certain caliber, even in Mexico. I've been to Mexico plenty of times and have had great experiences. I hope this was just a hiccup with this restaurant, but if not, I hope they will take this review and learn from it. My husband and I are happy to pay for great service and tip accordingly when the service is there. After a slightly disappointing evening we both would still agree it is a Great atmosphere, great food and very friendly overall.
Lugar fantástico y delicioso. Te hacen sentir como en casa, me prepararon un plato especial solo para mí y mi antojo. El gerente del restaurante es una persona espectacular y muy amable. ¡Imprescindible para comer en Loreto!
Turns out this is connected with Mike’s Bar. Crazy, but most locales know it as “ Mike’s upstairs restaurant”, not by its commercial name. When we entered, the placed looked closed, half the tables chairs stacked to the side. Although there was a nice breeze, the one employee seemed reluctant to “open” the place up, but we insisted on some ventilation before sitting down. Nice enough fellow, but clearly not expecting customers as he had to run down to the bar to get our drinks. We had a cross section: salads, shrimp dinner, Chile Releno, tacos. Food arrived promptly and actually was pretty tasty. We enjoyed our meals, but constantly asking for condiments you would usually expect already on the table. Had several drinks, but place was uncomfortably warm, so we moved on. There for about 90 min total and never saw another soul. To be fair, eating around 5 in July is an American thing and it may be totally different at 8. An Average rating isn’t bad! So we will try again next trip, maybe later and see how that goes!
The restaurant is above Mike's Bar. We visited twice. The guacamole was very good as were the governor quesadilla in the afternoon. In the evening the pollo cordon blue was exceptional. Service was very good. Lovely cross breeze kept it comfortable
