Ozzie's Luncheonette - Longport

I came from out of town and ordered a small glass of orange juice for breakfast, but I was shocked to see it cost $8! I only had a $20 bill, so that really limited my spending, especially since it wasn't even freshly squeezed juice. I was very disappointed. I also ordered an egg and cheese sandwich, which was priced at $8, making it quite expensive. It’s a learning experience, I suppose. I asked for jelly, and you would think I was asking for something very complicated!

I first ordered the heel flake dish with strawberries for my two daughters (ages 2.5 and 4.5), and they absolutely loved it! I was also very satisfied with my shrimp and avocado salad. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, and the crispy salad with fresh avocado really made it special.

I ordered an omelet and, after taking a bite, I discovered a long black hair buried deep inside. I informed our waitress about it, and her response was to suggest that they should just leave it in the food next time. I told her she could take the plate away because I wouldn’t eat any of it, but I'd still pay for it and that it wasn’t an issue. When I went to pay, rather than receiving an apology, I was told that no one in the kitchen has long black hair. I'm hesitant to say I won’t return, but the experience was quite disappointing.

We went in and asked if the tables were outside theirs. we couldn't get a direct answer from the dame and the guy just ignored us. will not recommend this place

We love Ozzie's! We love their 50s decor, their gallery of old photos of Longport and their food! They are not cheap, but not many places at the shore are. They have lots of outdoor and indoor seating. This morning I took my grandkids who asked for Mickey Mouse pancakes. Although they're not on the menu they were happy to oblige, and I got the most delicious cinnamon French toast with slivered almonds. So, so good! Pleasant, efficient help and yes, they take credit. Give it a try, and I'm sure you'll be back again :
