I finally tried this highly praised pie shop and I'm glad I did! The burgundy pie is the best I've ever had, the chili pie had a spicy kick to it just as I was warned. And the Bushman pie was a taste sensation! I appreciate that the pies are extremely fresh and not old and soggy. Stop by and grab a pie, you'll love it!
The pies were just okay; I have had better from other local makers. However, the attitude of the staff was not appealing at all, which is why I feel compelled to provide this feedback. The service was slightly arrogant, and as a customer, it was not a pleasant experience. Ultimately, how you choose to treat your customers is up to you, but because of this negative experience, we will not be returning. A bad attitude can truly ruin an otherwise good experience with a business.
When I heard about these pies I had to try them (I am known for driving extremely long distances for something special from a bakery . LJ 's did not disappoint! The family-friendly atmosphere was great, and the whole family loved the pies, even my finicky 4 year old son loved them. I got talking to the chef (quite a character! and his family. It turns out they have a wholesale side to the business with ready to bake frozen pies that they sell to other bakeries and cafe 's. I ended up bringing a whole esky full back home to Canberra. Needless to say it wasn 't long before they were all eaten, and we loved every one of them! I 'll have to take a couple of eskies next time to fit all the orders I have from the guys at work. Great experience, great food. I 'll be back very soon... Thanks LJ 's.
Now called Long Jetty Bakery! If you are after a bacon and egg roll for breakfast or a massive Double Beefy Burger this is the place to visit.
