I love this place! I have been coming here for 2-3 years and always get two tenders with the really good flavor, Call the Morgue or Death. Not everybody can handle this level of heat but it 's the only one I ever get here for me. My wife is a sissy so she sometimes asks me to get the more bland version.Recently, they changed the recipe and it isn 't as spicy as it was but still good. Please bring back the original or better yet, step it up a notch and call it Call the Crematorium .Parking: Parking can be a little challenging but I have always managed to find a spot on Carson. The restaurant has a Carson St. address but is actually on Norse Way.
I ordered The Side Chick Combo (mild) today. The sandwich wasn't bad, although it wasn't as flavorful as I remember. Seasoned fries also came with my sandwich. Prices have gone up, but I guess that's the norm everywhere. There wasn't a line when I came in, and I received my food pretty quickly. This location is open until 9 pm, but call ahead to confirm in case hours change.
Visiting LA with my family, this restaurant is our favorite place so far. We ordered from them every night in a row and everytime is deliciouser than before!Small hole in a wall with great flavor! Must try.Wish we have you in WNY!
Service here was very nice. The young lady who took our order was very kind and helpful so customer service is definitely 5/5.We ordered two chicken tender combos $13 each) with an extra tender a-piece $5 each), a banana pudding $6), and a lemonade $3). They comped our lemonade and gave us a free tender unprompted. One major plus is that the tenders are large! A huge issue I had was that an extra tender cost $5 alone, they are large but that just felt overpriced when there are no 3 piece options. The pricing just felt very high especially when considering the combo did not include a drink. This is an insulting new trend. If you Google the traditional definition of a combo in a restaurant setting it is a meal that includes food items and a beverage! I would honestly rather pay $15 for the combo knowing my drink was included.Food:Chicken Tenders- 4/5 Very good sized tenders! Well cooked and juicy. My husband feels the medium spice just wasn 't very spicy.Texas Toast- 5/5 FANTASTIC. Perfectly buttered and fried. Great taste with a satisfying crunch!Fries- 0/5 Egregiously terrible. They were severely over-fried and oily. It almost felt like they were old fries they dunked back in the oil to reheat. Like several were rock hard to bite.Mac Cheese- 2/5 Someone else here called it tasteless and I have to say it was accurate. I really wanted to like it cause I like cold Mac but it was very bland. Recipe really needs work.Sauce- 2/5 The chicken sauce really just missed the mark. It was far too mayo heavy to be a true comeback or chicken sauce leaving it bland overall as well.Banana Pudding- 2/5 This is just boxed banana pudding mix with three chunks of banana and vanilla wafers. Very poorly executed so that it also tasted very basic and bland especially for $6 a serving.Overall, only the tenders toast were good. Everything else was disappointing and overpriced. I really wish this place was better. I truly think there 's potential due to the excellent tenders but all the sides severely need work.
