Zumbura is a real gem in clapham. I was looking for an Indian restaurant that reminds me of home. fresh and authentic, which do not cut corners. eating here is excellent, my favourite dishes are the lamming aprons, the black cockerbsen (ghugni) and the Jhinga drilled garnel. oh and the naans are so fresh and tasty! also the service is first class!
Modern and somewhat romantic environment with decent service. eating was very tasty, but quite expensive for what you imagine Turkish/indian tapas fusion. the waiter proposed 3 plates pp, which would alone amount to at least 20 pfunds. after two, I decided it wasn't worth the extras. drink wisely that we have not tried the cocktails. anyway not very Indian. Cambodian beer was good, but again expensive for a small bottle. there are many great and cheaper places to pack Indian food. I don't know if that's one of them.
Zumbura in the old town is an Indian restaurant with a difference. almost tapas like its ideal for exchange and makes it easier than an ordinary curry than a result. this means that its touch is more expensive than its average curry, but I would argue that it is worth a contract. the decor and atmosphere is clean and pleasant and the aromas of some of the dishes quite exquisite. my co-author tom was less enthusiastic about his visit, and I am not sure that my co-dits were as futile as I were, but I felt sure that the fish curry was really excellent. to make a visit for something else and their own.
Zumbura is perfectly located in the delightful Clapham Old Town. We arrived slightly earlier than our companions and were happy to indulge in a couple of cocktails while we waited for them. I went for a Himalayan Ice tea which was delicious and refreshing but tasted quite alcoholic, London Curry Blog went for his usual mojito. Zumbura serves Indian food tapas style, and it was recommended we ordered 7 mains between 4 of us. On top of the 4 shared starters and cocktails it ended up being an expensive affair, and if I'm completely honest, not completely mindblowing but very tasty still. The stand out dish was a fish curry with fenugreek. read more
