There was only one vegan choice on the menu which fortunately was very good when it arrived. The food overall was good if a bit mean with the sandwiches. The tea was not automatically replenished and when we asked for more the Manager said no as it wasn’t on repeat. We did manage to have hot water…. Eventually. There were not enough people serving for the number of tables and it seemed only one person took food/drink orders. We had a good time despite these limitations and we weren’t made to hurry. I’d not go back for afternoon tea but would have a snack if visiting the Wallace collection.
The restaurant is very beautiful and the staff werr great as well. I went for afternoon tea and I would definitely recommend it! Will be visiting again!
We really enjoyed the afternoon, while on our trip to london, but it was disappointing. eating was not very nice, we asked for special changes that did not happen, our food was left to the table next to us and then moved to our table later. the congratulation has been automatically added to the bill when it is displayed on the menu, it is optional. from this reason we refused to pay it as expected. total disappointment.
Really disappointed by my recent experience here. I was already before and it is a nice place, but this time we did not experience so causal racism. the service employees have made significant additional efforts with white guests. we often had to show them for attention, moreover they tried to give the old brot as sourdough and to invite us.
Afternoon tea was advertised online at £19, to only be priced at £24.95 at the restaurant. We waited 30mins to have our tea order taken, got a wonky stand, the sandwiches were either wet one side or stale on the other and the pastries seem to have been out of a 5 year olds kids party. Great atmosphere, but that’s it.
