Rasa Sayang Satay House, Paddington – not often we feast on Malaysian food in restaurants because of my Malaysian Home Cooking Supperclub. Most of the time I am also occupied with trying out new recipes, dishes and flavours. Tweaking it to perfection before making sure the dish is good enough for my supperclub. Sometimes I go out of my way for food, this was one of those cases! Craving a good Malaysian we traveled out from Bank to satisfy those cravings. Malaysian food in London has yet to have its big stage yet so places are either clustered around Bayswater or dotted around London. First impressions, love the traditional menu with a lot of Malaysian favourites, I couldn't wait to try them all! One of which is actually Teh Tarik. If you know me I'll order Teh Tarik everytime its on the menu! I'm addicted to the stuff! Satay House's version was sweet but also great to taste a bit of bitterness as well to temper the taste.
We found a tasty spot for Malaysian food yesterday! Various tastes and spices! As an appetizer, we ordered Satay (6 chicken skewers with peanut sauce) and for our mains we had Kari Ayam (Aromatic chicken curry), Kari Laksa (Spicy egg noodle soup with chicken, tofu, egg, prawns, and vegetables) and my favourite Rendang Daging (Slow cooked beef in coconut milk and spices) !! Definitely recommend this if you like Malaysian!

It is located on a quiet road away from the noise and bedlam of the Edgware Road and Paddington; making it a good place to relax after a long day at work or West-End shopping spree. The service here can be a little slow, primarily because everything is cooked fresh from scratch. This can result in the entire order coming at once and some food getting cold. I can recommend: the Ayam Goreng Berlada (Fried Chicken with Shrimps), Ayam Masak Lemak Chili Api (Chicken...read more
