Le vieux comptoir is a slipper of an ortes. it opened up as a French wine shop and then expanded the ground floor into a caffe with a charming courtyard and a delicacies. we found that it was a nice place to go to the brunch in marylebone. I liked how there were many French courts that they usually do not see in other caffes such as oeufs cocotte, and I thought in the time, it would offer a healthy competition for the massive popular pious bran next door.

This was by far the worst dining experience we have ever had. The manager informed us at 9pm that we needed to order by 9.30pm before the kitchen closed, which we did. However, he proceeded to make casual insults and act inappropriately while rushing through the service. He then abruptly announced that the restaurant would be closing at 10.30pm due to licensing laws. My main course was taken away before I had finished it, and the bill was presented to me while I was still chewing my food. My date, who the manager had flirted with earlier, was shocked by the audacity and rudeness we experienced. I would recommend avoiding this French version of Faulty Towers unless you are looking for an alternative to a local comedy club.
We recently gathered to honor an old friend at one of his preferred eateries. The restaurant truly exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly, efficient, and attentive the entire time. The food was top-notch, the wine choices extensive, and the prices fair considering the quality. Definitely worth a visit.
