Kiln - London

The ambiance of the restaurant is quite pleasant, and being able to watch the chef cook right in front of us was definitely a highlight. The staff were all very friendly, and the food was excellent. My favorite dish was the glass noodles.

The train ride from Birmingham to London is quite beautiful, but nothing compares to the charm of the kitchen at Wedgen! I didn't take a photo since I didn't want to intrude on the chefs, but I absolutely love it. The open kitchen is cozy and intimate, filled with the inviting aromas of cooking burners and sizzling pots. The earthy atmosphere provides a traditional feel, and it's simply amazing.

I visited this restaurant during our trip to London in October after a friend's strong recommendation. The service was outstanding; we arrived early, but since our group wasn't complete, the staff kindly let us have drinks at the bar tables while keeping an eye on the rest of our party. The food was incredible! It was enjoyable to sit at the bar tables and watch the chefs prepare our meals in the open kitchen. Everything was made to order, and the aromas were delightful! We tried the Isaan-style plaice laap, southern-style dry pork curry, cod curry, jungle curry with pork, claypot baked glass noodles, and fried banana peppers. The last dishes we ordered had an amazing level of heat! Every mouthful was bursting with flavor, and the spice levels were just right. I can't wait to return the next time I'm in London!

The exit is cozy. friendly atmosphere. we're coming. the menu has mainly thai, grills and seafood. eating presentation is beautiful. we have ordered many different plates. all were delicious. good service.

Kiln is not for the faint hearted. It is a restaurant with fire at it’s core. Heat blazes from the clay kiln pots that are used to cook with here, and pop up from the dishes studded with chilli. From the raised seating around the food counter it whacks you direct to face like the first steps off the plane on a summer holiday abroad. It is the remover of clothing, the bead of sweat inducing exhilarating reason that we love obsess over fire. A meal here is not only an insight into the food of North Thailand, it is a celebration of heat and the results it brings with control and skill.
