When I expressed that I didn't think a 15% service charge was appropriate for a starter and a main course that were just thrown on the table in front of us, we were met with indifference. The server claimed, “service is for every member of the staff,” despite the fact that only one waiter was present, and he treated us poorly. He then went to speak to the manager but didn’t even seem to notice where he dropped the new bill that no longer included the service charge. If he had shown some understanding or offered an apology, I might have been willing to pay the service fee, but he didn’t seem to care at all. We weren't the only table dissatisfied with the service; many others shared our frustration. It wasn't until we stayed for a bottle of wine and dessert that the service improved, although by then we had spent £120 on this meal. I definitely wouldn’t return to this place. There’s a much better option around the corner called Vagabonds that excels in every way.

I called the manager to express our concerns and let him know we weren’t looking for a discount, we just wanted to enjoy the rest of our meal. He assured us he would take care of it, but it was clear he wasn’t really listening. I even had to ask for toilet paper twice in the restroom, and they only offered us blue roll. When we wanted to order desserts and tea or coffee, no one came to our table. After waiting for 30 minutes, we finally asked for the bill, only to receive the wrong one. It was an absolute disaster. Having run restaurants myself, I understand how busy it can get, but instead of cramming more customers in, I would recommend limiting bookings to ensure the existing diners can enjoy their experience. It’s clear that this place is not being run properly. I used to love coming here when it was under Luca and Co. and would visit at least twice a week. This experience was a scandal, and I will not be returning.

The outdoor seating area is very cramped, making it difficult to find space for the food or the waitstaff. Our table was unsteady, which made it challenging to keep our wine from spilling. We had to wait a while to place our order, as the kitchen was understandably busy on a Friday night.

Overall we liked the atmosphere and the service was friendly. A nice touch would be for server to come around and ask if everything is ok or if there was anything that we need. We had to request salt and pepper and there was no offer of any parmesan for Italian dishes which is typical in other Italian eateries. Overall we had a good meal and evening out and would go back.

The food was excellent as was the service. Will return soon.
