We ended up ordering a bit more than initially planned because everything sounded so delightful, but we managed to restrain ourselves from overindulging. The restaurant’s ambiance was simple yet very inviting, filled with friendly chatter and clearly satisfied diners. Our food arrived promptly, and we could tell that everything was freshly prepared. We were informed that dishes would come out as they were ready, and we were more than happy to wait. Soon, we were presented with a beautifully grilled carbonara spade topped with kefalotiri, a lovely soft cheese that pairs well with everything. Next came a generous portion of chopped meat, perfectly seasoned and roasted in small balls. And yes, the charcoal-grilled lamb made its appearance as well! A squeeze of fresh lemon over everything enhanced the smoky flavor of the meat, complemented by aromatic, sweet grilled peppers—a real treat. It wouldn’t be a true meze without sampling everything on the table. The grilled octopus was particularly crispy, which may sound a bit odd, but we all know it's the best part. Stuffed to the brim, we had no intention of even glancing at the dessert menu (although we were all secretly aware of a second stomach for sweets!). However, before we could request the bill, our lovely hostess brought out a surprise: Greek baklava made of layers of filo pastry, sweetened with honey syrup and sprinkled with chopped nuts. We found ourselves mentioning just how sweet it was multiple times, and with every successive bite, we were torn between delight and the intensity of sweetness. It turned out to be just the right amount of sweet — absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend a visit to the Carob Tree, whether you’re near the heath or just passing by. Carob Tree offers delicious Greek cuisine in a lovely setting. Be sure to try Keo, a refreshing Greek beer, and consider sampling some mezze instead of opting for a main course. Finish your meal with a shot of ouzo to warm you up quickly on a chilly day.
