Femoe Kro - Lolland

Sailed to Femø recently and ate both lunch and dinner at Femø Kro. The inn, which dates from the 1600s, is beautifully located at the top of a small rise looking out to the sea. There is a small grass strip runway next to the restaurant and if you are lucky you may see planes land or take off. Despite its location the food was only average, with new potatoes that did not appear to be new, and poor salad which appeared to be mostly iceberg, tasteless lettuce. Lunch was better than dinner. The restaurant does serve some excellent, but overpriced European beers. The dark Begian was great but cost 80 DKK. The inn offers some excellent weekend or overnight packages which may be better value considering all included. They do have a van that will pick you up at the Harbour.

The island is lovely, the staff is super sweet and quite welcoming. The room is fine enough, it is simple there is what to be and there is clean. No TV in the room may affect anyone. They advertise with the free wifi problem are just it works only in the actual kroen i.e. in the room there is no wifi that works. Our room was located in the aller rear building and we therefore had a view directly into a large bromberry bush fairly boring and it made the room quite dark. There were so many shortcomings in the menu card with food and beverage they did not have. It happened to us several times and also for other guests, so let be showing a menu map if it is only limited what you can get from it. Also I ordered a sandwich with salmonemousse, according to the menu card when the sandwich then there was no shade of salmonemousse they had just put a piece of smoked salmon. Please consider that it is not the same with what you ordered before you just come with it and expects the guest not discovering it. We got 3 dishes menu first day, fine food was the meat on the main dish virtually unequal. So cool, and not special appetite. The second day commanded on the right of the day, chromat of fine quality. Breakfast buffet was okay, but evenly boring. It really feels like you have arrived somewhere where there is only the most necessary and the rest you must think about.

Fantastisk service. God mad fik buffet med vegetar retter og tærter. Det var så lækkert. Blev hentet på havnen og kørt til igen. Godt humør fra tjeneren på trods af travlhed. Hyggelig krostue/slyngelstue.

Can't get used gift cards for stays of 5ø. host couple gave the date of stay. I don't have the option to choose the date.

Would certainly not recommend people to get made gift cards for the kroen.
