We were asked several times if we didn't want to eat anything. We took the escape after a beer. With better management, this could be a top shop. Shame!
All in all, this is an ultra-tired location right at the Agger with very delicious food, good and not expensive wine and nice staff. I cannot understand the sometimes very bad reviews here and wonder if the reviewers were really there. The restaurant was taken over about 3 years ago by Devid Caruso and is now also called Don Caruso (formerly he had his restaurant at Sülz Castle in Lohmar). We spotted the Don Caruso in October at random because the beer garden was still beautifully lit and the fire bowl burned. Then we went in and ordered something small and a bottle of red wine. The Calamaretti were so good that I mean 50 last week. birthday with 66 guests there. For such parties, the Don Caruso is also perfect in winter (approximately 30 75 guests), because it is comfortably nested and never looks empty, but offers enough space (see photos). The whole evening, but above all the location (including two Vespas beautifully decorated) and the good food (and wine) were praised by everyone. As a main dish we had Iberico pork, which was tender and juicy, Gambas on the point, for the vegetarians a mushroom risotto. The cheese plate at the end was also very good. The announced prices have been complied with. We are completely satisfied, have only received positve feedback from our guests ... and will come back.
After a long time again at the Caruso. In summary: the dishes were very delicious, the service was very bad. Mineral water with carbonic acid ordered: still water. After that another bottle of mineral water with carbonic acid ordered with hint: again get still water. The service was then frostier. The house red wine was ordered to eat: when we were finished with the food, we were asked what wine we wanted to eat.
One of the most beautiful beer gardens wide and wide... However, the service makes you wish... You have to wait a long time and if it is well visited you have to get the drinks at a wooden hut yourself... The quality of food depends heavily on the mood of the cook... So very fluctuating...
The location directly at the Agger is really very nice, but you should not get hungry, as it takes forever until the food comes. The supply of cold beverages is guaranteed as self-service. The organization is quite worthy of improvement! Now, under a new operator, is Don Caruso.
