As a local Libertyville resident, I always wonder about this restaurant every time I passed by downtown Libertyville. Finally got to visit it on last Thursday night. The place was almost full on regular weekday around 7pm, and that’s a good sign of a good restaurant. Although the place is classy but the ambience is very relaxing and friendly. We have always celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant and it was a treat which we looked forward to…however, tonight we ordered in and sat down to the recommended lamb gyro Chips and a salad…disappointed does not even begin to express the meal we were delivered! It's not lamb, its mutton the fries were so old dry and so bad we couldn't eat them…the saving grace was the greek salad a meal that cost us over $80 was only worth the salad!
Atmosphere was very nice. Staff was great! Really delicious coffee. Try the baclava pancakes.
The food tasted great and service was good. The Sunday brunch menu has some interesting choices and it's varied so you should have options. Be prepared to try something you would not have thought to combine before. We enjoyed the Grecian Benedict (the base is falafel, not exactly traditional Greek but tasted great), the Breakfast sandwich (the lamb bacon and tyrokafteri really bring this dish to the next level), Greek yogurt and the baklava pancake (gluten free, tasted fine).
