The Black Forest Inn - Lock Haven

The north loop of the black forest trail over Thanksgiving has made it to change to the black forest inn before we hiked to the camp. I had a meatball parm hoagie with fries, a coffee and a new trails beer. service was fast and friendly, they seemed shocked to see us out of the backpack in the snow and we had a few good laughs about it. the prices were very reasonable and that was great. much better than the dehydrated food I wanted to eat. if I'm ever back, I'll come by definitiw for lunch.

Beautiful place, but I think they were a little short on the staff so the service was a little slow.

Stay in the inn on a Sunday evening before the labor day. really want this place due to its great location for fishing slate run but had a series of problems. the website said the restaurant/bar is open up to 6:15, but it is really closed around 6. we came around 6:05 and could not get any food. I guess they tried to get out early on the day of work, which is understandable. they recommended mountain top so we drove there and they had an excellent service. back in black forest inn, the directtw has not worked at all, no channels. the wifi has not connected, and a password has not been provided. I called the office several times, but no answer, they were closed. hot water had extremely strong reddish smell when you tried to wash the coffee pot the next morning, which was contaminated by previous guests.

Good eating, nice place, nice people, slow service, but this is the status quo, today
